Oh, yes - one more thing.
Sean, this is also question for you: what's the thing with services such as Last.fm? I created an account there years ago but I only started using it recently. Is music they provide there legal and how it works?

Sorry for double post.

Last FM is a website that I personally think is not very good because it does not allow the artist to control his page or any info. So it's often filled with misinformation and illegal content (like illegally uploaded photos from fans taken from official sources, etc).

But on LastFM bands are sort of compensated for plays, similar to radio, but it's only like thousandths of a penny per play, if that. So essentially it amounts to nothing unless your'e getting tons and tons of plays (so make sure you play LAM A LOT there).

LastFM isn't good because it really restricts artists to be heard by only people who listened to certain kinds of music, therefor exposing yourself to new audiences isn't really accomplished as opposed to radio play. Radio, real radio, is best for bands.

But my music was on LastFM before I was being compensated for it. And still, I'm not truly being compensated for all plays even now, and there's little I can do to remedy that. Again the internet is a mess for bands now. There are so many of these companies and, like ghost ships, they sail along without the artist being able to track down what they owe for play compensation or to correct misinformation, etc.
