The big problem is how everything has changed.
The audio format is not that useful when most people listen to mp3s thesedays, and if they upload the audio format to their computers, then they share it with someone and it spreads like a virus!
I have lots of original albums but I have to accept I sometimes want the mp3 version too because it is more comfortable...technology changed our way to play music. Now, even when a band uploads their songs to be listened and then bought there are computer programs to record the sounds on your computer so piracy is too easy...
If our cell phones had a Cd player they wouldn't be small...and it's the same with mp3s.
Everything is getting smaller...I wonder how will we listen to music in 50 years!
It's so hard... I think internet companies should pay more taxes because internet helps piracy and it's not the user's fault it's just there to use it... we all pay for internet and mp3 players...if they harm the music industry...why can't they pay for it? Companies are getting bigger because of users..let the rich people pay for us...for their mistakes!
a friend from the states came to Chile twice...and he couldn't understand why people don't go to the cinema so often...it's because if you go to the cinema you pay like 7 dollars... but you pay 2 dollars for the fake DVD and you watch it all the times you want at home even wearing your pijama if you want...
In Chile we never had any trial about downloads from internet.
I remember the napster-Metallica problem..that won't happen here.
So it's about laws to protect the artists and to make people responsible for what they sell mp3 players..internet... they are a big part of the problem and if they paid more taxes or  they should do something to "give some money back" to the artists that loose their money because of them.
