Snog,

I hope you get over this soon. Normally depression doesn't come out of the blue as far as I know, from what I've read about it, and from personal experience. However, a person who suffers from depression cannot always see the cause of it. It could be one event, it could be a combination of events. Something that you haven't realised it effects you in an adverse way.

The first step is to speak to a specialist, and try to identify the source/cause of your depression. Once you do that, it will be much easier to fight it.

I had something similar when I was a teenager. Suddenly one day, I stopped sleeping, eating, and being able to feel happiness or sadness. I couldn't see why I was suddenly like that. I went to the hospital to see a psychologist, and all he did is prescribe drugs that knocked me out completely, had terrible side effects, and actually worsened my condition. Eventually my parents took me to a family friend who is a psychiatrist, for a chat. She told me to through the drugs away immediately. After a few sessions, I realised that the problem was that I did not want to accept what the problem was. I wanted to be in control, and I convinced myself that I am dealing with situations and pressures, whereas what I actually did was suppress them, so it all back fired one day.

Once I realised what the problem was, I could make the necessary adjustments in my life and eventually managed to get over it.

I hope this helps. :)
