soniagreece,
Yes, the most smokers do not remember why they taste their first cigarette, but they had some sort of reasons for it in the past. That's why I think that the reasons why people started to smoke and why they continue smoking are problems of the same importance. Because to prevent something is much more helpful and desirable than to correct it afterwards. Erilun, I don't want to do harm to surroundings, that's why I decided to stop smoking in the near future))) |

On the subject of healthy eating, I can say for myself I have to try and want to eat healthier, for the very
fact that I am trying to get my body and stomach healthier. I have a lot of stomach problems. Even in my picture you
can see that I break out around my chin area a lot, probably due to the toxins in my body from lack of going I probably need some time for relaxing and taking care of myself, instead of always putting myself last.
Relaxation and a few more baths and also some quiet time, that's probably what I need, instead of trying to get it through shopping. I guess we all have
things we still need to work on in life, myself included.

I try to live healthy, I don't smoke, don't eat fast-foods, try not to eat products with preservatives, avoid sugar (but I'm just eating
jellys...), salt, white flour and products with sodium glutamate.
I eat: wholemeal flour and bread, seaweeds, seeds (sunflower, pumpkin), almonds, oats, a lot of brown rice, etc Everyday I drink three mugs of spring water on an empty stomach. I don't drink cofee, becouse after three days of drinking coffee I have dizzy and I feel week. I don't drink black tea, but I drink probably too much green tea. I don't eat dishes after them I feel heavy. I don't exercise... go to sleep after midnight... have a lot of stress (I am nervous)... what do you drink or eat (except coffee) to rise the blood pressure? (if you have at once high puls?) |

This is from a blog I posted on My Myspace.
Take the classic-curling up with a pint of ice cream. It's a total backfire. Why? Sweets are insidious: After the initial rush, the body's insulin response kicks in, causing a sudden blood sugar drop that triggers the release of stress hormones. Soon you're feeling more jangled than you were before you inhaled that whole container of Ice Cream. And alcohol, of course, is a wolfish stimulant in calm sheep's clothing. But true comfort foods do exist. 1. Berries, any berries Eat them one by one instead of M&Ms when the pressure's on. For those tough times when tension tightens your jaw, try rolling a frozen berry around in your mouth. And then another, and another. Since the carbs in berries turn to sugar very slowly, you won't have a blood sugar crash. The bonus: They're a good source of vitamin C, which helps fight a jump in the stress hormone cortisol 2. Guacamole If you're craving something creamy, look no further. Avocados are loaded with B vitamins, which stress quickly depletes and which your body needs to maintain nerves and brain cells. Plus their creaminess comes from healthy fat. Scoop up the stuff with whole-grain baked chips-crunching keeps you from gritting your teeth. 3. Mixed nuts Just an ounce will help replace those stress-depleted Bs (walnuts), give you a whopping amount of zinc (Brazil nuts)-it's also drained by high anxiety-and boost your E (almonds), which helps fight cellular damage linked to chronic stress. Buy nuts in the shell and think of it as multi-tasking: With every squeeze of the nutcracker, you're releasing a little bit of tension. 4. Oranges People who take a 1,000 mg of C before giving a speech have lower levels of cortisol and lower blood pressure than those who don't. So lean back, take a deep breath, and concentrate on peeling a large orange. The 5-minute mindfulness break will ease your mind and you'll get a bunch of C as well. 5. Asparagus Each tender stalk is a source of folic acid, a natural mood-lightener. 6. Chai tea A warm drink is a super soother, and curling up with a cup of aromatic decaf chai tea (Tazo makes ready-to-brew bags) can make the whole evil day go away.

No problem, I actually have a lot more...and since you mention Tea...
I drink green
tea nearly every day, mainly as a replacement for coffee, which is a routine at 230 am when I am leaving for my work. I would also like to mention that Green
tea extract is in nearly every single diet product available now. I would rather have the real thing. 7 Reasons to Drink Green Tea The steady stream of good news about green tea is getting so hard to ignore that even java junkies are beginning to sip mugs of the deceptively delicate brew. You'd think the daily dose of disease-fighting, inflammation-squelching antioxidants - long linked with heart protection - would be enough incentive, but wait, there's more! Lots more. CUT YOUR CANCER RISK Several polyphenols - the potent antioxidants green tea's famous for - seem to help keep cancer cells from gaining a foothold in the body, by discouraging their growth and then squelching the creation of new blood vessels that tumors need to thrive. Study after study has found that people who regularly drink green tea reduce their risk of breast, stomach, esophagus, colon, and/or prostate cancer. SOOTHE YOUR SKIN Got a cut, scrape, or bite, and a little leftover green tea? Soak a cotton pad in it. The tea is a natural antiseptic that relieves itching and swelling. Try it on inflamed breakouts and blemishes, sunburns, even puffy eyelids. And that's not all. In the lab, green tea helps block sun-triggered skin cancer, whether you drink it or apply it directly to the skin - which is why you're seeing green tea in more and more sunscreens and moisturizers. STEADY YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE Having healthy blood pressure - meaning below 120/80 - is one thing. Keeping it that way is quite another. But people who sip just half a cup a day are almost 50 percent less likely to wind up with hypertension than non-drinkers. Credit goes to the polyphenols again (especially one known as ECGC). They help keep blood vessels from contracting and raising blood pressure. PROTECT YOUR MEMORY, OR YOUR MOM'S Green tea may also keep the brain from turning fuzzy. Getting-up-there adults who drink at least two cups a day are half as likely to develop cognitive problems as those who drink less. Why? It appears that the tea's big dose of antioxidants fights the free-radical damage to brain nerves seen in Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. STAY YOUNG The younger and healthier your arteries are, the younger and healthier you are. So fight plaque build-up in your blood vessels, which ups the risk of heart disease and stroke, adds years to your biological age (or RealAge), and saps your energy too. How much green tea does this vital job take? About 10 ounces a day, which also deters your body from absorbing artery-clogging fat and cholesterol. LOSE WEIGHT Oh yeah, one more thing. Turns out that green tea speeds up your body's calorie-burning process. In the every-little-bit-counts department, this is good news! |

Well, about green tea. I like it very much but when I've got a green tea overdose I can't sleep at all, so be careful with it (especially those who
have a weak type of nervous system)

SilverSad wrote: Yes, that tends to happen to me, since I drink "gun powder" green tea (stronger), and I may drink some tea too late in the afternoon . I will then have some Chamomile tea in the evenings. It definitely calms your nerves
regardless and helps me sleep better at night too. (especially going through stressful situations)

Maria69 wrote:Maria, do you know how to cook pickled beetroot soup? If you don't know I'll write the recipe when I ask my mom how to cook it. My mum uses mushrooms (during the winter dried mushrooms, ground dried mushrooms) as a condiment. SilverSad I try not to drink green tea too late. I heard the green tea works less but longer than coffee. Karpowr, I must try Chamomile tea Btw, could you give me your pizza recipe please? What do you replace the cheese? |
